Pancreatic Cancer Action

Description

Pancreatic Cancer Action is working towards the day when people survive pancreatic cancer and patients have the best treatment available. We want a better understanding of the risk factors, symptoms and treatment options for pancreatic cancer.

As well as early diagnosis research and providing resources for medical professionals we also help increase awareness of symptoms and provide patient information: free infomation booklets, treatment options, what questions to ask, and sources of support.

Our mission is to improve survival rates of pancreatic cancer by ensuring more people are diagnosed early and in time for surgery – currently the only potential for a cure – and improve the quality of life for patients.

We are doing this by:

  • Helping healthcare professionals diagnose pancreatic cancer sooner by providing free resources and e-learning
  • Raising public awareness of pancreatic cancer and its symptoms
  • Providing free, easy to understand, patient information
  • Funding research to help find a diagnostic test for pancreatic cancer
  • Campaigning for change (access to treatments, stamping down on inequality) on a national and global level
