Brighton Foodbank - Hangleton & West Blatchington

Our aim is to help individuals and families who are in urgent need, access short term support – in terms of food, but also money and energy advice, and community support.

Clients must be referred to the foodbank by a professional organisation, for example a Health Visitor, Social Worker, Housing Officer or Advice agency.

We provide fresh fruit and vegetables, tinned and dried food as well as essential toiletries such as toilet rolls and washing powder.

We also provide a ‘Recipe of the Week’ with a pre-packed bag of ingredients to encourage clients to cook healthy, homemade meals.

When clients visit we offer a hot or cold drink, homemade soup and a friendly listening ear. Our volunteers have access to signposting information and will try and point clients in the right direction for further support and advice.

The mental health charity MIND visit the foodbank once a month to offer support and advice. Moneyadviceplus visit the food Bank every fortnight
