Supported Employment Sussex

Description

Our specialist employment support helps people across Sussex to access and retain paid work, complete education and training and get involved in volunteering.

Across Sussex, our Employment Specialists are fully integrated within Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust's clinical mental health recovery teams to provide support tailored to individual needs, goals and aspirations.

How we work

We support people through an approach called Individual Placement and Support (IPS). It is internationally recognised as best practice to supporting people with mental health challenges to secure or retain paid work.

What the service provides

We provide one to one support to gain and retain:

  • Paid work, part or full time, in real work settings
  • Voluntary work, work experience and education as a stepping-stone to achieving paid employment
  • Life skills and the confidence to take control
  • Education, qualifications and non-accredited courses

Eligible applicants

It is a free service open to adults aged 16 and over living in Sussex who are using a Mental Health Service and are motivated about exploring their work and/or learning goals. We also offer a specialist service to young people who are accessing services from Early Intervention Teams.

We accept referrals from individuals (to make a self referral please complete the referral form on our website) and Mental Health Teams working in the area.
