Sussex Care Services - The Star Project

Description

We have four shared houses spread across Hove and provide short-term personal care (primarily managing medication) and support, for adults aged 18 and over, with a range of mental health needs.

The amount of support we provide varies depending on needs, and can be anything from a few hours a week, up to full-time support or intensive support over a short period of time to help achieve a goal. We also encourage peer support as much as possible, where mutual support and a shared journey empowers people to make the changes and learn together.

Specialist mental health services support people with a diagnosed mental health condition, which can be anything from:

  • Anxiety and panic disorders
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Depression
  • Personality disorders

Through self-development and collaborative support with staff, the people we support gain self-confidence and improved emotional wellbeing on their pathway to independence and recovery.

All houses

  • are within easy reach of shops, supermarkets, restaurants, parks, public transport connections and the seafront
  • have staff on-site from 8am to 8pm and CCTV to help ensure residents feel safe and secure. There is a concierge service and an out-of-hours telephone service, should residents require any further support
  • have a lounge, kitchen, bathroom and shared garden. There is WiFi in all communal areas
  • All bedrooms are fully-furnished.

We only accept referrals from social care or mental health professionals, through Brighton and Hove City Council
