Sussex House

Description

Sussex House is a centre that provides support to adults with autism and/or a learning disability as well as some people who have more complex support needs.

We have a dedicated team of qualified and well-trained professionals who support service users to engage in a personalised programme of support within the centre itself and the local community itself. We encourage service users to participate in activities in small groups where interests are shared but can also provide 1:1 support where required. Support is provided within a structured, autism friendly environment that ensures that the individuals are encouraged to identify their own goals that meet their needs and support them to gain further independence.

Lifelong learning

The main emphasis is to equip individuals with the necessary skills to lead as independent a life as possible.

Our aim is to increase independent life skills. Service users are fully involved in the day to day working of their timetables and take their interests, abilities and needs in account.

Sussex House Activities

Sussex House offers a variety of centre-based and community-based activities. Physical exercise is known to be effective in reducing stress, anxiety, self-injury, aggressions and self-stimulatory behaviors and the charity aims to include some physical exercise in each person’s daily program.

We are located in a beautiful environment and make use of lovely woods, parks, beaches, historical gardens as well as leisure and community facilities.
