Free, weekly, 5 km timed runs (not a race!), open to everyone, safe and easy to take part in - run or walk, olympian or first timer, recovering from illness, living with a disability, with families, friends or on your own: it's your parkrun. 

parkruns take place every Saturday morning at 9am in parks around the UK and overseas.
Register once, get your unique barcode and just bring it along whenever you attend a parkrun.
In 2017 a survey showed that GPs often suggest to parkrun to patients, for a variety of reasons:
  • to help improve fitness
  • to improve mental wellbeing
  • to improve quality of life
  • to increase self-confidence
  • to improve self-care/self-management
  • to make friends and reduce loneliness (50%).


There are plenty of opportunities for volunteering at parkruns - in order for parkrun to happen, volunteers are needed at each event every week. Have a look at the website for information, including how it can count towards Duke of Edinburgh (DoE).
