Dental - Special Care Dental Services (SCDS)

Description

We are a Dental referral service for patients with special needs and those who have difficulty accessing General Dental Services, we also provide dental treatment on a domiciliary basis for housebound people and training in Oral Health Care.

Our service is for patients with specific health and social care issues including:

  • Learning disabilities
  • Physical disabilities
  • Medical problems
  • Mental health diagnosis
  • HIV individuals referred by health agencies or related units
  • Dental phobias
  • Travellers
  • Homeless
  • Refugees
  • Alcohol and drug misuse
  • Undergoing rehabilitation


Specifically for children:

 

  • Challenging behaviour / severe management difficulties
  • Social problems
  • Child Protection Register and looked after children
