Eastbourne Foodbank

How to get help

Our foodbank works using a voucher referral system. In order to get help from our foodbank, you will need a voucher issued by one of the local agencies we work with.

If you call or email us we can talk through your situation and put you in touch with a relevant local agency.  They will discuss your situation and supply you with a foodbank voucher where appropriate.

Agencies we work with include: Citizens Advice, housing support officers, children’s centres, health visitors, social services and some local charities.

Visiting the foodbank

Please refer to our website for opening days/times for each location

Please note, Shinewater Shaftesbury Centre foodbank does not provide an advocacy service.

When you arrive, we’ll discuss any dietary needs you may have and exchange your foodbank voucher for a parcel of three days of emergency food. Whilst your food parcel is being prepared, a volunteer will offer you a warm drink and a biscuit. They will also be available if you would like to have a chat.

Foodbank volunteers

As well as providing emergency food, foodbank volunteers take the time to listen and support you. They are specially trained to know about local services and offer practical guidance so that you have access to the right support, helping you to break out of crisis.
