AAAC Counselling

Description

AAAC provides counselling to adult survivors who have experienced childhood sexual abuse as a child or who may be experiencing a crisis resulting from other forms of childhood abuse and trauma.

We offer:

  • NHS 1:1 short term counselling
  • Private fee-paying 1:1 short or long-term counselling
  • Equine assisted therapy 

Steps we can take together:

  • Work on a common process of discovery 
  • Work closely with you to change how your past affects the present
  • Discover patterns that help you deal with recurring situations
  • Understand any feelings that may lie beneath your self-protective or self-destructive strategies

All counsellors:

  • Adhere to the BACP 'ethical framework,' 
  • Hold professional insurance for all aspects of their work 
  • Are DBS certified 
  • Attend monthly supervision with a qualified supervisor 
  • Undertake a minimum of 30 hours continued professional development training annually
