Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP) and Counselling

What do we offer?

Coastal Wellbeing facilitate WRAP courses across East Sussex for carers (www.coastalwellbeing.co.uk/wrap-for-carers)  and in the Wellbeing Centres (www.coastalwellbeing.co.uk/wrap-for-mental-health-and-wellbeing)  in Lewes, Newhaven, Uckfield, Hailsham, Eastbourne, Bexhill and Hastings, run by Southdown East Sussex Community Network.  These courses are funded, free of charge and booking is essential.  To find out where your nearest course is being held, please follow the links above.

WRAP is a tool for life and can be used to support anyone – we have worked with young people, autism, long term health conditions, addictions, in the workplace and trauma.  If you would like us to facilitate a WRAP course for your organisation, please contact us for details on availability and cost.

What is WRAP?

WRAP stands for Wellness Recovery Action Plan.  WRAP is a prevention and wellness process that anyone can use to get well, stay well, and make their life more the way they want it to be through a series of tools and action plans, called a WRAP.

This is a process for anyone who wants to make positive changes in the way they feel and the way they respond to life’s challenges.

Having a WRAP allows you to explore options and choices to support your wellbeing and plan steps you can take to look after yourself when you are faced with difficult situations, emotions and people.

Attending a WRAP course can help participants to:

  • explore ways of managing their health and wellbeing
  • discuss existing and new wellness tools to support their wellbeing
  • identify stressors and early warning signs
  • create action plans for times when life gets challenging
  • explore crisis planning
  • support themselves
  • feel empowered to make choices
  • develop self-awareness and resilience
  • share experience and learn from others
  • build a supportive network
  • have time to focus on their needs

WRAP courses are co-facilitated by Molly and Lucy, who provide a professional, supportive and safe space for participants to explore all aspects of the WRAP process.  We deliver WRAP as a six-week course with up to ten participants, usually meeting once a week for three hours each session.  Each week we will explore the different parts of WRAP through group discussions, breaking out into smaller groups or pairs when appropriate.  All materials will be provided.
