Financial Support for Dealing with Winter Weather
Depending on your circumstances, you may be entitled to receive financial support to help you deal with the winter weather. Click the links below for more information, to find out if you qualify and, if so, how you can apply.
Winter Fuel Payment - you could get between £100 and £300 tax-free to help pay your heating bills if you were born on or before 5 May 1953.
Cold Weather Payment - You may get Cold Weather Payments if you’re getting:
- Pension Credit
- Income Support
- income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Universal Credit
Payments will be made when your local temperature is either recorded as, or forecast to be, an average of zero degrees Celsius or below over 7 consecutive days.
Warm Home Discount Scheme - for winter 2018 to 2019, you could get a £140 discount on your electricity bill through the Warm Home Discount Scheme
